We have another good example of an overnight nadex spreads trade. The news came out and the market went straight down to my take profit and even after the initial retrace went beyond my take profit level 2 more times. This is the 3rd overnight trade that i've taken and all of them have turned out positive, for now. Lets hope things continue to go well. <br />

Regulators are investigating Bank of America for front running its 
clients' large trading orders, according to documents reviewed by <a href="http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/01/25/us-bankofamerica-probe-idUSBREA0O0DC20140125">Reuters reporters Karen Brettell and Aruna Viswanatha.</a><br />

Front running is a pretty simple trick. You (the bank) know your 
client is going to place a big order for a security. Since you know the 
price of the security will go up after that big buy, you place the 
bank's order ahead of your client's order.<br />

Sometimes this results in the price of the security going up for your client.<br />

In this case, according to Reuters, that client was Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.<br />

My New Years Resolution

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">I meant to create this post several weeks ago but better
late than never I suppose. Like many people I decided to bring in the New Year
by making a promise to myself which will hopefully improve my life in some way.
Sadly I can’t recall many times where past resolutions have come to pass and
there lies the purpose of this post, Accountability. </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Now to the point. Before January 2015 I will create a
consistent online income of no less than $4,000 per month. This income should
come from no less than 4 sources; I wouldn’t want all of my eggs in the same
basket. Futures trading is obviously the first source of online income and I could
perhaps reach my entire goal with this alone but as stated above, multiple
streams of income is needed for true security. I have several ideas on what the
other 3 will be, such as binary options thru Nadex and several others. Either
way each needs to be bringing in at least $1,000 per month for me to accomplish
my resolution. This is post 1 of 2. Ill post part 2 on January 1 2015 and we’ll
see if I’ve accomplished my goal. I wish everyone reading
this much success with their own goals and with any luck 2014 will be a year of
great change for a lot of people. </span></div>

Well this was my first overnight trade. The GBP Retail Sales came out at 4:30, I placed my trade at 11pm and it was set to close at 7am. In my research I saw that the gbp retail sales tends to move 30-50 or more ticks so I was somewhat confident my modest take profit of 20 would be hit. I used take profits to exit the trade so I didnt need to be online watching it. I'm still checking on a new recording software but video's should be back to normal shortly.<br />

Well this was just a great trade. I had tested natural gas before right after the holiday and it didnt move much so I didn't really get a good feel for it. This time around things went perfectly. You'll be able to see my take profit getting hit. Once I learn the platform a bit better and become accustomed to entering the trades I'll let you guys see me actually entering them. For now there's still a lot I dont know and I dont want to confuse anyone.

Australian Employment Change (Nadex-Spreads)

This was a beautiful trade, I got my orders entered 30 minutes before the news came out. I had a total risk of $34, with nadex your total risk equals your margin. I was able to set my take profit levels in to take me out once I had made 20 ticks in profit. Each tick is $1 with nadex. So 20 ticks is $20. if I was trading 5 contracts my profit would of been $100 and my total risk,margin to take the trade, would of been $170. I could of used a larger take profit but in this testing phase I'm just trying to be safe. I caught ever step of the process in my original video but sadly it wasnt able to be saved so I did a quick walk thru of what happened in the trade here. I'm a bit annoyed so im shutting this cpu down and relaxing :-)

Well folks I was able to get this video uploaded. I wont go into the details about the issues I had, i did that already on the video description on youtube. Anyway this was the start of my nadex testing. These trades will not be perfect, im still trying to get the hang of the platform. I'm also testing to see when the best time to enter my trades is so as I move forward keep these things in mind. Today we entered 30 minutes before the release and I was able to make a small profit. If I would of entered an hour to an hour and 30 minutes I would of been in a much better position. This has been noted and next time Ill do that. Anyway the video ends at 14:50, I had an issue with the converter so you can ignore the rest as its just shows the stopped video. I plan to invest in a new video recorder as mine no longer works. Hopefully things will be back to normal shortly until then please be patient while I figure this stuff out. Thanks<br />

Well folks my testing has begun and I've started recording my trades. I took 2 today and wouldnt you know it my recording software stops working after I tried uploading this mornings oil trade. I just completed this afternoons australian employment and tried using another recorder, i thought it worked and I caught all of the action including my take profit getting hit then when I went to export it I get an error that says the file is too large. I cant express how annoyed that made me as that was my first really good winner and I caught it from beginning to end. O well, thats life. Ill try to find a way to upload the videos. I had to just do a walk thru of the australian trade since the original is lost. Check back shortly and hopefully ill have something up. O yea, both trades were winners :-) <br />

Treasuries Halted During NFP Release

On January 10, 2013, about 8/10ths of a second before the Labor 
Department released the widely anticipated Employment Situation Report, 
trading activity exploded in Treasury futures, sending the prices much 
higher in less than 1/10th of a second. The buying activity overwhelmed 
the 5-Year T-Note market causing a stop logic circuit breaker to trip 
and shut down trading for 5 seconds. During the halt in 5-Year T-Note 
futures, the news was officially released in Washington, D.C. - meaning 
that anyone wanting to trade on that news, would have to wait until the 
halt was lifted almost 4 seconds later (4,000,000 microseconds in high 
frequency trading lingo).<br /><br />This isn't the first time that Treasury
 futures have been halted (see also 08-Nov-2013 and 07-Jun-2013);

Were now at the start of a new year and its always good to start things off with a winner. This was a very slow moving trade that ended up as an easy win. Its possible the market continued moving up and the original take profit would of been hit but I felt safer taking a smaller profit over risking it turning into a loser.
