4/22/14 +$30.00 (Aus. Quarterly CPI)

 http://abs.gov.au/ausstats/wmdata.nsf/activeimages/abs_logo_lg_bg/$File/abs_logo_lg_bg.gif

Well its going to be a light week with not many news trades so I figured i'd try this one out. I've traded it in the past but the slippage was an issue. It would seem slippage is still an issue as there was a lot of it today. We had a large spike down and I was able to move my stop into profit before it retraced. Not something ill be trading regularly but its good practice. (To test JOBB for yourself CLICK HERE)

Monday Motivation 4/21/14

 http://picslava.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Albert-Einstein-Quotes-3.jpg

I hope everyone had a great weekend and I hope your set to conquer a new week. I can honestly say its been a rough couple days for me. Im slowly realizing that finding new systems that actually work will be much harder than I originally thought. Besides the last 2 tests on this site not panning out I've also been testing other systems on my own in hopes of finding a hidden gem. In each instance I've ended up at the same place, failure, and not from a lack of trying. The most bothersome part to me is the deliberate lies that I see on sales pages to try and get people to purchase a system. For example one products sales page showed the last 100 trades, the majority were winners and so I joined to test it myself believing this information to be truthful. Needless to say after joining I found out the product owner had changed many of the losses to winners on the sales page to make it look more appealing. The dishonesty in internet marketing by these so called guru's is abhorrent.

No im not making a blanket statement about all product owners. I've had several good experiences in the past and hope to have many more. I'm just a bit frustrated at the moment and had to vent. I know every person reading this has at some point dealt with similar situations so I know im not alone. I also know that the only way to eventually find that system that will consistently work well for us is to continue to test and in doing so we will have to deal with the lies and fakes along the way. There is no substitute for hard work and determination so I have no doubt that in the end those that persist will find success. I haven't given up in spite of being let down time and time again and I hope you wont either. The only other alternative is to simply accept whatever life gives you and for me that's not an option. The video above stood out to me among those that I watched over the weekend. I hope you enjoy. Also I've found a new system that ill begin testing this week. Lets continue pushing forward folks. Take care.

4/17/14 +$25.00 (Philly Fed Manufacturing Index)

http://ei.marketwatch.com/Multimedia/2014/01/15/Photos/ME/MW-BS581_manufa_20140115091928_ME.jpg?uuid=191af6b4-7df0-11e3-ac9f-00212803fad6
Well I was finally able to catch a trade this week. I've been extra busy with work lately so that's the reason why there haven't been many updates. I'm  hoping that will change once things slow down. Today we had the Philly fed manufacturing index news, its not a very big mover but I was able to capture a couple ticks in profit from it. Also im researching new trading systems for my next testing period, if you know of any good ones let me know. (To test JOBB for yourself CLICK HERE)

WASDE New Method Test 4/9/14

 http://www.morningstarcommodity.com/sites/default/files/USDA%20wasde%20logo%20website.jpg
Did a test today on the method JOBB support sent out for trading the wasde. If you traded the traditional method then you would of been profitable. The new stuff they said to try failed badly. Just goes to show its good to test before you go live with stuff like this. Again everyone who entered their brackets at the regular time made money on this. In the future ill be sticking to the traditional method.

Monday Motivation 4/7/2014

http://quonation.com/qpics/Tyson_Punched_In_The_Face.jpg

This weekend I came across a movie on Steve Jobs life, I didnt watch the movie but I did find a biography and decided to read that instead. Here's another prime example of what can be accomplished with a dream and a lot of perseverance. The video below is from Steve's commencement address at Stanford in 2005, the particular section of the speech that this video covers was very inspiring to me. I hope it will be to you as well. If you wish to watch the whole speech CLICK HERE. For those interested i've included a quick biography of his life below, from adoption all the way to Apple computers. I'm sure you'll read something you didn't know about him. Anyway, Its the start of a new week, forget about the failures of the past and lets make this week count folks.

"Remembering that you are going to die, is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose" -Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs, the American businessman and technology visionary who is best known as the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Apple Inc, was born on February 24, 1955. His parents were two University of Wisconsin graduate students, Joanne Carole Schieble and Syrian-born Abdulfattah Jandali. They were both unmarried at the time. Jandali, who was teaching in Wisconsin when Steve was born, said he had no choice but to put the baby up for adoption because his girlfriend's family objected to their relationship.

The baby was adopted at birth by Paul Reinhold Jobs (1922–1993) and Clara Jobs (1924–1986). Later, when asked about his "adoptive parents," Jobs replied emphatically that Paul and Clara Jobs "were my parents." He stated in his authorized biography that they "were my parents 1,000%." Unknown to him, his biological parents would subsequently marry (December 1955), have a second child, novelist Mona Simpson, in 1957, and divorce in 1962.

The Jobs family moved from San Francisco to Mountain View, California when Steve was five years old. The parents later adopted a daughter, Patti. Paul was a machinist for a company that made lasers, and taught his son rudimentary electronics and how to work with his hands. The father showed Steve how to work on electronics in the family garage, demonstrating to his son how to take apart and rebuild electronics such as radios and televisions. As a result, Steve became interested in and developed a hobby of technical tinkering. Clara was an accountant who taught him to read before he went to school.

Jobs's youth was riddled with frustrations over formal schooling. At Monta Loma Elementary school in Mountain View, he was a prankster whose fourth-grade teacher needed to bribe him to study. Jobs tested so well, however, that administrators wanted to skip him ahead to high school—a proposal his parents declined. Jobs then attended Cupertino Junior High and Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. During the following years Jobs met Bill Fernandez and Steve Wozniak, a computer whiz kid.

Following high school graduation in 1972, Jobs enrolled at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. Reed was an expensive college which Paul and Clara could ill afford. They were spending much of their life savings on their son's higher education. Jobs dropped out of college after six months and spent the next 18 months dropping in on creative classes, including a course on calligraphy. He continued auditing classes at Reed while sleeping on the floor in friends' dorm rooms, returning Coke bottles for food money, and getting weekly free meals at the local Hare Krishna temple

In 1976, Wozniak invented the Apple I computer. Jobs, Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, an electronics industry worker, founded Apple computer in the garage of Jobs's parents in order to sell it. They received funding from a then-semi-retired Intel product-marketing manager and engineer Mike Markkula.

Through Apple, Jobs was widely recognized as a charismatic pioneer of the personal computer revolution and for his influential career in the computer and consumer electronics fields. Jobs also co-founded and served as chief executive of Pixar Animation Studios; he became a member of the board of directors of The Walt Disney Company in 2006, when Disney acquired Pixar.

Jobs died at his California home around 3 p.m. on October 5, 2011, due to complications from a relapse of his previously treated pancreatic cancer.

Mr Binary Options system update 4/4/14

http://www.forexminute.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/What-is-One-Touch-Strategy-in-Binary-Options-Trading.jpg
Today we had the dow trade and oil trade for the mr binary options system. The oil was first up and it ended up being a loser after the bottom fell out of the market and it shot down. Last 2 oil trades were winners so a loss was bound to happen as the system is based on probabilities. The dow trade was a winner and has been doing extremely well. We were only in the trade for a couple minutes before the take profit was hit. With these systems we can expect to win 70-80% of the time which means we have to be prepared to lose between 20-30 % of the time. I will say that im not pretty good at entering my orders. Took a bit of practice but its not so complicated now. If you have any issues just ask me and ill help if I can. Testing will continue next Friday,

4/4/14 -$875 (Non Farm Payroll *LIVE*)

 http://www.forextradingempire.com/non-farm-unemployment.jpg
Well this was officially the trade from hell. The market spiked down, filled me, I moved my stop down to break even plus 1 and it quickly reversed up. I decided to close out fast but if I would of held I could of gotten back close to break even, I just didnt want to risk it. Trades like this do happen and it can shake your confidence but for those that took grain stocks you should be around break even as I would be had I been able to take it. I'll see you on the next one, hopefully we'll have better luck.

ECB Press Conference 4/3/14- Nadex Spreads (LIVE) +Trade Entry Steps

  http://www.talkvietnam.com/uploads/2012/12/logo-of-the-european-currency-euro-standing-in-front-of-the-european-central-bank-ecb-in-frankfurtm-western-germany-773182-grsdafg.jpg
Today we traded the ECB press conference news live with nadex spreads. I took this last month and it was a winner, and it didn't disappoint today either. I'm now trading nadex live and its my hope that this can be an option for those that want to trade news but don't want to deal with forex brokers and don't have the $2500 required to open a futures account. Ill continue testing it live to see how viable it is. I will say that there was very little stress involved, most likely because I didnt have to worry about a stop being hit or about whipsaws, I placed my trade, ran to work for a bit, came back to check on it then went to get something to eat, came back and recorded the take profit being hit. I was also able to record my trade entry and take profit entry.

NFP is this Friday- Are you ready?

There are few releases that cause a bigger impact in the markets than Non Farm Payroll. Last month we had a beautiful move in the zb that everyone was able to profit from. Just remember when news trading non farm payroll you have lots of choices as far as which instrument to trade. I wanted to point out some of the other options we have that you might not of considered. Below we take a look at the zb, the 6j, the cl, the es, the gc and the ub. Each of the charts is from last months nfp. Ill give brief info on each as well. Lets start with the zb.

*For those that would prefer to trade news in the forex market i recommend http://wingstarfx.webs.com as that's where I got started. Glenn was very helpful and answered all of my questions on news trading*

ZB (u.s. 30 year bonds) $31.25 tick value

6J (JPY/USD) $12.50 tick value- (prone to whipsaw's)

CL (Crude Oil) $10.00 tick value-(prone to high slippage)

ES (S&P E-mini) $12.50 tick value

GC (Gold) $10.00 tick value-(prone to high slippage)

UB (Ultra Bonds) $31.25 tick value-(moves similar to zb)

As you can see there are lots of opportunities in different markets. This is just a small fraction of th3e markets available to be traded during u.s. news releases. It just takes a bit of research to see whats available to you. Each instrument has advantages and disadvantages but their all worth looking into. You can use your ninja trader platform to do the research by simply loading several months of history or you can use something like the calendar at fasteconomicnews.com, either way don't wait till the last minute folks, preparation is one of the keys to success.
